Enabling SMTP Authentication Using Microsoft Outlook Express 5.x or 6.x
#1 Open Outlook 2003.
#2 Click on Tools in the menu bar and select E-mail Accounts from the drop-down menu.
#3 Select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click Next.
#4 Select the account you have through us (usually mail.douglasfast.net).
#5 Click on Change.
#6 In the E-mail Accounts window, click on More Settings.
#7 In the More Settings window, click on the Outgoing Server tab.
#8 Check the box that says My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
#9 Select the option that says Use same settings as my incoming mail server if it not already selected.
#10 Click OK.
#11 Click Next.
#13 Click Finish.
#14 Test to ensure you can send mail. If so, you're done!
