Enabling SMTP Authentication Using Microsoft Outlook Express 5.x or 6.x
#1 Open Windows Vista Mail.
#2 Click on Tools in the menu bar and select Accounts from the drop-down menu.
#3 Select your account with us from the list.
#4 Click on the Properties button.
#5 Click on the Servers tab.
#6 Near the bottom of the window find the Outgoing Mail Server section.
#7 Check the box that says My server requires authentication.
#8 Click on the Settings button.
#9 Select the option that says Use same settings as my incoming mail server if it is not already selected.
#10 Click OK.
#11 Click Apply.
#12 Click OK.
#13 Click Close.
#14 Test to ensure you can send mail. If so, you're done!
